Gifts of the Magi
I created this either as a design for a Christmas card or as a stand-alone image. The scene depicts the Magi (aka The Three Wise Men) traveling to bring their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to lay at the feet of Jesus, the newborn messiah. Each gift prophetically symbolized something important about the identity and mission of Jesus:
gold = kingship frankincense = divinity myrrh = spice used at death
After I drew the piece in pen, I transferred the image to my iPad and added the color you see.
Note that there are two versions: one without text and one with the text of a Christmas message.
